On October 24th Attorney General Dave Yost’s office announced that Ohio schools can now apply for their share of $10 million in school safety grants for the 2019-2020 school year. This funding allows schools to receive either $4.49 per student or $2,500, whichever is greater.
Superintendents should have received notification of eligibility and instructions on how to access the funds on 10/24. All applications are due by December 13th.
The application is available through the Attorney General’s site:

As your school completes the application process and considers plans for improving school safety, I would like to share with you how other schools in your state are publishing their safety and emergency response plans.
Empowering your educators with a quick-reference flip-book that tells them exactly what to do when an emergency occurs, and incorporates any colored flashcards your district uses, is a great step in improving safety. I would love to send you a free sample of the Guide to Emergency Preparedness™ – the custom, quick-reference guide that we have helped other schools put together, as well as pricing for your school or district.
A partial list of the schools we work with in Ohio include: Brooklyn City Schools, Harrison Hills City School District, Danville Local Schools, Minford Local Schools, North Royalton City Schools, Miami Trace Local School District and Westlake City School District
