$93 Million Available to Strengthen School Safety Statewide
The FY2026 School Safety Enhancement (SSE) Program provides $93 million in federal funding to help states strengthen school safety systems, improve emergency response coordination, and enhance physical security in schools.
Unlike many grant opportunities, applications are submitted by State Educational Agencies (SEAs) rather than individual school districts. States may use these funds to develop statewide school safety initiatives, provide technical assistance, strengthen emergency planning, and support local districts with safety and security improvements.
