The third week in October is International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW), which commemorates the significance of infection prevention around the globe. President Ronald Reagan first proclaimed this day in 1986, and the world is now celebrating 25 years of bringing greater attention to the importance of infection prevention!
This week professionals are honored for protecting and educating patients as well as healthcare workers and the community. Since infection prevention is present in everyone’s business, this event allows APIC an opportunity to strengthen relationships with other associations that are actively engaged in infection prevention activities both locally and abroad. Opportunities to participate in IIPW include:
- Showcasing Your Commitment
- Participating in Joint Webinars
- The Future of Infection Prevention / Healthcare Epidemiology
- Putting Safety at the Center of Our IP Practice
- Looking Beyond the Hospital: Assuring Safe Processing of Reusable Devices in All Settings
- Developing a Central Line Maintenance Bundle: What is the Best Approach?
- How Clean Are Our Patient Care Areas? Are We Sure?
- Participating in Live Events
- Partnering with APIC for IIPW
More information about these opportunities can be found at the APIC website
